The
Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is a non-profit trade
association whose 2,700 member companies conduct business in the motor vehicle
aftermarket industry. AAIA is an association which resulted from the
consolidation between the Automotive Parts & Accessories Association (APAA)
and the Automotive Service Industry Association (ASIA).

Automotive Industry Action Group
(AIAG)

The Automotive Industry Action Group
is a globally recognized organization founded in 1982 by a group of visionary
managers from DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors. The
purpose: To provide an open forum where members cooperate in developing and
promoting solutions that enhance the prosperity of the automotive industry.
AIAG's focus is to continuously improve business processes and practices
involving trading partners throughout the supply chain.

Exchange Association (EIDX)

The Electronics Industry Data Exchange
Association (EIDX) was formed in 1987. It is an incorporated, nonprofit,
association of companies from all segments of the electronics industry. EIDX
serves as a forum for electronic commerce within the industry. EIDX also works
with other industries where EIDX guidelines may fit their business needs.

Information Technology for the
Automotive Industry

ITA -
Information Technology for the
Automotive Industry - was formed on March 14, 2000 as a committee associated
with the VDA - "Verein der Automobilindustrie"; German Automotive Industry
Association - and acts as a communication platform and service-provider for the
automotive industry.
As a non-profit
organization ITA has set itself the objective to improve the information flow
between the automobile manufacturers plus suppliers and the IT firms with the
main focus on logistics and supply chain.
More than 50
well-known IT and consulting companies are today members of ITA. The turn over
of the member firms was around 48 billion Euros in 2003 and employed staff of
around 325,000.
ITA
acts actively in international committees and work groups, i.e. ODETTE, AIAG and
OAGi, to deliver solution competence and know-how transfer as well as
optimization and transparency of Automotive processes in a national and
European context. |

The International Telecommunication Union signed
on 24 March 2000 a Memorandum of Understanding on electronic business (download
PDF file), joining three leading international standards-setting
organizations already party to the MoU, namely the International
Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE).
The Open Applications Group is also a member as
a registered international user group.

Product Data
Association

The U.S. Product Data Association is a
nonprofit membership organization.
Established
by industry, US PRO is the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI)
accredited standards development organization responsible for
coordinating
U.S. votes and industry inputs to the ISO STEP ( ISO 10303)
activities.
US PRO provides management functions for the U.S. Technical
Advisory
Group (TAG) to ISO TC184/SC4, coordinates and manages standards
meetings
in the U.S. each year, oversees the STEP Certification activities,
and
maintains the US PRO on-line catalog as a source of STEP and other
product
data exchange specifications.

The Web Services Interoperability Organization is an
open industry effort chartered to promote Web Services interoperability across
platforms, applications, and programming languages. The organization brings
together a diverse community of Web services leaders to respond to customer
needs by providing guidance, recommended practices, and supporting resources for
developing interoperable Web services.
